Area Director

Summary: The Area Director Position is a 12 month live-in position that reports to the Director of
Residence Life. Area Directors are responsible for residential areas with 600-900 students residing
in 2-4 residence halls. Each Area Director supervises 1-2 bachelors' level Student Affairs Associates
as well as 20-40 paraprofessional staff members, advises a residence hall government, serves as a
university conduct officer, and responds daily to student and parent concerns. Area Directors serve
on a university wide critical incident response team and are an integral part of the university's crisis
response plans. Each Area Director also works on a collateral assignment for the department and is
involved in the department, division, and university's continuous strategic planning and institutional
advancement processes.

Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position will have a Master's Degree in Higher Ed.
Administration, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field. Previous supervisory,
advisory, programming, and conduct experience preferred. Flexibility and a sense of humor
strongly recommended.

Additional Information: This is a full-time 12 month live-in position. Compensation includes a
starting salary of $30,000 to $31,000, a furnished apartment, a flexible meal plan, parking,
a PDA Cell Phone, health insurance, tuition remission, retirement, and flex-spending.
