Associate Dean of Graduate Studies

Under the general direction of the Dean of Graduate Studies, the Associate Dean will provide
executive, administrative, and analytical support to the Dean in a wide variety of areas including:
recruitment, special projects, budgets, correspondence, and assist with the day-to-day operations
of the Dean's Office. The Associate Dean will serve as coordinator all graduate recruitment
activities and will develop, manage and organize comprehensive recruitment and retention
strategies.
The associate dean as coordinator of recruitment will also be responsible for the development and
implementation of a comprehensive strategic and goal oriented marketing and recruitment plan
in order to recruit and promote growth in the number, scholarly quality, and diversity of the
graduate student population across disciplines to Clark Atlanta University. The associate dean
will serve as the liaison to the School Deans, chairpersons, and graduate coordinators on
recruitment issues. The associate dean will also work closely with the Office of University
Advancement to develop innovative promotional and marketing materials for recruitment.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a doctorate degree and experience in higher
education administration and graduate recruitment; Advanced knowledge of information technology
as it relates to recruitment; Strong written and oral communication skills; Strong analytical skills;
Familiarity with financial aid programs; and experience in marketing academic programs.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have experience working at universities with
Carnegie rankings similar to those of Clark Atlanta University.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of
