Lynn University, founded in 1962, is located in the heart of Boca Raton, Florida.
In nearly 50 years, Lynn has become one of the finest small universities in the South.
With an enrollment of more than 2,500 students, a new diverse curriculum comprising
five colleges and two schools, and a prestigious athletics program that earned a total of
18 national championships, Lynn is committed to providing individual support to students
to realize their potential. Lynn University is a private, coeducational, independent university
offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. The university is situated on a beautiful
subtropical 123-acre campus that features seven freshwater lakes.

The vice president for student development provides vision, leadership, and management for
the student development division. Reporting directly to the president, the vice president is
responsible for organizing and managing the activities of the student development department,
including student wellness, student involvement, residence life, career planning, judicial affairs,
campus recreation, the campus health center, the counseling center, campus safety and security,
and the dean of students’ office. The vice president currently directly supervises four professional
staff members and plays a highly visible role campus-wide. This is a revolutionary time to become
a part of an energized and refreshed cabinet while focusing on changing the student experience at Lynn.

The successful candidate will possess a terminal degree (doctorate preferred), a minimum of eight
to ten years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. Other qualifications include demonstrated knowledge of student development theory
and how to implement theory into practice; experience formulating and administering university
policies and developing long-range goals and objectives; ability to review analyses of activities costs,
operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and
objectives; and experience as a student advocate and problem solver.

The successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience with program development and
financial analysis; demonstrated ability to effectively manage and coordinate the work of staff; a
proven track record of providing quality student service; and the ability to represent Lynn University
in professional arenas. Excellent oral, written, and communication skills and the ability to synthesize
complex studies, especially ones related to student development, are required. Further, prior
experience as the chief student affairs/student development officer is preferred.
